Project Conservator - Osborne House

12 month contract (with possibility of extension) GBP 17,000 p.a. inc.

Ref: R/4/2000

Osborne House on the Isle of Wight is currently undergoing a major redecoration project including the redisplay of the Indian collection in the Durbar Room. This is an exciting opportunity for a conservator to provide collections conservation and collections management support to the project team. You will be based at Osborne House and your role will include assisting with the preparation of tender documents, advising on protection, co-ordinating the installation of the Meaco system, ensuring the safe packing and movement of objects, reinstallation and house keeping.

The post requires a recognised conservation qualification with at least 2 years post-qualification practical and preventive conservation experience. You must be an enthusiastic, well motivated team player able to deliver under pressure.
