Hello All -
I am a semi-retired museum professional. My husband and I are being
considered for a caretaker position at an historic house. The current
proposal is that we pay $1200/month for rent and are only able to be off
premises 14 nights of the year, in addition to looking after the historic
house, barn and grounds.
We are not to be employed by the historic society that owns the property.
That we are expected to pay rent and have limited freedom (only 14 nights
off property?) seems odd and not right to us.
Is there anyone out there who has encountered such a situation or can share
insight, we would greatly appreciate your help!
Please reply off-list to me/us directly at my email:

Thank so much!
