The Daring to Lead 2011 <http://daringtolead.org> study recently released by
CompassPoint and the Meyer Foundation found that the more time an executive
director invests in his/her board, the more satisfied the ED is with the
performance of the board. Yet, more than half of the ED's surveyed spend
less than 10 hours a month working with board members and the board as a
whole.

Your work with you board not only increases your satisfaction, it also
strengthens organizational capacity. But it's not just how much time you
spend investing in your board, the quality of the work you undertake with it
is just as important in my book. I've written a bit about it at my blog:
http://bit.ly/okQfRH

I'd like to hear about the ways you invest in your board -- what's worked,
what hasn't. I'm sure others on the list would appreciate your insights and
tips.

Anne
