POSITION: Lecturer in Museum Studies

QUALIFICATIONS: The department is seeking a person with a doctoral degree in a discipline associated with museums and/or museum studies. The department also values experience in the museum profession, either full-time or in a consulting role.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position blends teaching, some research, and service to the university and the community. Courses taught might include 1) introductory classes; 2) a graduate seminar on museum education, one of the core courses in the graduate program; and 3) advanced classes in the candidate's area of specialization. The latter might include (but are not limited to) informal learning, public programming, exhibits, evaluation and assessment, and visitor studies. Additional responsibilities might include administrative duties such as serving as director of the graduate program.

RANK AND SALARY:    Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
