News Conference: The Heritage Health Index Report on the State of
America's Collections
Tuesday, December 6th, 9 a.m - 10:30 a.m.

The first comprehensive report on the condition of publicly held
collections across the nation will be released by Heritage Preservation
and the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
Discussed will be the growing disparity in resources for collections
care between the nation's mega art museums and those of research
libraries, regional archives, and historical societies; the pervasive
lack of emergency planning nationwide; and other findings.
A Public Trust at Risk has been undertaken with support from the IMLS,
The Getty Foundation, The Henry Luce Foundation, The Samuel H. Kress
Foundation, The Bay and Paul Foundations, The Peck Stacpoole Foundation,
and The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.
