Exhibit Information:
Dominic Bracco, Photojournalist
Life and Death in the Northern Pass

The Center for Greater Southwestern Studies at UT-Arlington would like to make you aware of a remarkable photo exhibit entitled "Life and Death in the Northern Pass." This exhibit of thirty images by photojournalist Dominic Bracco, a UTA alumnus, presents a poignant portrait of Ciudad Juarez, a city ravaged by Mexico's drug wars. The exhibit has been on display on the UT-Arlington campus for the past three months, and has been extremely well-received, not only by students but by the wider North Texas community which UT-Arlington serves.

More haunting than macabre, Dominic's photographs evoke a world where seemingly stark moral boundaries are blurred by the gritty realities of poverty and endemic violence-- a chronicle of life and death, of grief and loss, in the most violent city in North America.
Here is a link to the collection. (http://www.primecollective.com/life-and-death-in-the-northern-pass/)

Dominic's photographs have appeared in the New York Times and the Washington Post, as well as many other national publications. He has been honored with a Pictures of the Year International Award and received a grant from the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. Based in Mexico City, Dominic is also a compelling and engaging speaker. Only 23 years old, he has an ability to speak directly to students, rather than lecture to them.

If your gallery would be interested in displaying Dominic's photographs, or having him speak to students at your university regarding his work on the front lines of Mexico's drug wars, please email or call the Center for Greater Southwestern Studies at your earliest convenience.
