This sounds like it is more a matter of music licensing which varies by
venue type and size. The rates for licensing vary depending on what
performing rights organization (like BMI, ASCAP, etc. here in the US). who
represent songwriters and composers collect. There are different licenses
too - fees for CD use is different from Radio and is different than live
performances. The rates and licences also vary from country to country. So
what applies here in the USA will be different for Germany, etc. Your music
producer should know this.
