Textile tags can be made from a variety of materials, from unbleached muslin
to Tyvek. What you choose should be determined by what you're marking as
should the thread and pen. Sewing tags takes some care not to break the
threads of the object being sewn.

Now is a good time to plug a couple of resources that you should add to your
bookshelf

The New Museum Registration Methods by Buck and Gilmore and available from
the AAM bookstore <www.aam-us.org>

and

Beyond Fingernail Polish III available from the Registrar's Committee
<www.rcaam.org> look under publications or contact the RC chair.

Together they will help you figure out what to use.

Please remember to be careful with advice you receive from people who have
not seen your objects. Often the advice is right on target but occasionally
you'll run into well meaning but completely misplaced information. Always
examine your sources.
