Do you find historic textiles fascinating?
The Museum of Frederick County History, an AAM accredited museum operated by
the Historical Society of Frederick County in Frederick, Maryland, is
looking for an intern with knowledge of museum practices to help with the
relocation of their textile collection.
Awarded the AIC/Heritage Preservation award for collections care in 2006, we
are currently preparing to transfer our collection of over 3,000 textiles to
our new storage facility. Under the supervision of the curator, the intern
will be examining the textiles to be transferred, noting condition,
verifying catalog information, rehousing items if necessary and tracking the
new location using Past Perfect collections management software.
If you would like to work with a fun group of museum professionals and gain
real world experience, the Historical Society of Frederick County is the
place. Internship hours are flexible within the normal work week. If you
