Reading about Solux Lighting reminded me of something I've been meaning
to Post....I'm wondering specifically how Institutions handle their
outside lighting. As an Amateur Astronomer I'm very much aware of the
problem of the misuse of lighting outdoors that causes the lighting up
of birds and airplanes. Most people today can't see the Stars as all
humanity was able to. This wouldn't be such a big deal except that Light
isn't free of course it costs money. Each year we in the United States
spend at least $ 1.5 Billion doing this.

For a more complete discussion of this problem, I invite you to go to
the International Dark-Sky Assoc. Web page at: www.darksky.org.
