Constance,

The Graduate School of Arts and Science at New York University has a
24-point Advanced Certificate Program in Museum Studies that is encouraged
to be combined with a graduate study in the area of humanities, social
sciences, or sciences. The same school has an American History Program.
Check NYU sites: http://www.nyu.edu/gsas/program/museum/
and http://www.nyu.edu/gsas/dept/amerstu/ ,

Best regards,
