In theory, the idea of combining the position of education coordinator and
volunteer coordinator makes sense, but I would caution you to make sure the
individual you hire understands the importance of both jobs.  I have worked
in two museums now that have combined the positions, and on both occasions
the volunteer program suffered because the educational responsibilities were
given first priority.
