Also look at this information from the Benson Ford Research Center of The
Henry Ford. The short version is that cement is incompatible with log
buildings, especially historic ones.

As difficult a decision as it might be, you might want to revisit the
choice of portland cement. It is better to do that now than be faced with
more difficult repair problems in the future.

If Minnesota has a department of historic resources, they probably have
resources to help you; the Minnesota Historical Society can also be helpful.
