In Response to Garlan Jenkins' request for suggested readings for a museum
studies course.

I would add to the previously posted recommendations:

_Preventative Conservation_, by Maggie Graham Bell, published by the B.C.
Museums Association.

an excellent introduction to the principles of conservation and collections
care. Originally intended as an introductory reference for community museums
it is now in it's second or third edition, and used in many courses
throughout the world. Inexpensive too!

A must, as well, for the well stocked reference shelf of any community museum.

for more detailed information and ordering you should contact

DISCLAIMER: I am a member of the BC Museums Association, but I do not
receive any remuneration for plugging this publication, it's just a GREAT
handbook!

(If you are seriously thinking of using a wire wheel on a pistol, you may
want to have a look at this too)

Cheers
