Just to clarify my earlier message, which seems
to have created some confusion:

I am not proposing to set up a separate list from
MUSEUM-L, nor would I be competent to do so. My
previous posting was an invitation to others who
are concerned with teaching and reference collections
to participate in an e-mail discussion on the side.
My thought was that the care of such collections
involves minutiae that may not interest the larger
museum community, and I didn't want to load your
mailboxes with such things. I have been following
the response on MUSEUM-L with interest, as well as
the responses of those who have expressed an interest
in my invitation, and I do not yet know what will
come of all this. In any case, I have no intention
of cancelling *my* subscription to MUSEUM-L.
