Benchmarks and Performance IndicatorsG'Day Peter;
There was an "Audit Guide for Local Authority Museums" published about 10 years ago by the Audit Council for England and Wales (now the Audit Commission, they have a website). It has standards (auditing, to be sure, but they can equally be used for performance measurement) that cover every aspect of museum/galley work.
Best,
Harry

I know that these terms are not always viewed favorably in the non-commercial sector but our Museum is again using these terms in both its Business Plans and associated documents.
I am trying to set up one of my staff to do some ground level research on the topic particularly in relation to Visitor Services, Education and Public Programmes.
Any suggestions or advice would be most welcome
