Hello and sorry for the cross-posting!

As many of you know, I have been working on research about
18th-century stockings. This has included learning about stocking
frames, the machinery used to make hosiery.

I have the wonderful opportunity to spend January in England,
learning how to operate and maintain an antique stocking frame. I'd like
to share that with you! If you're interested, please go to

http://www.egroups.com/group/AStockingFrameOfMind

and subscribe to the list.

Egroups seemed to be a good place for this, since I can post photos
in the files section as well as send notes about my progress and
experience, but not have to worry about maintaining a web page. I've set
this up an an announcement list, not a discussion list, so I'll be the
only one posting. Replies will come back to me if any subscribers have
questions or comments. Traffic will probably be one note per day.

Anyone may join this list. Please feel free to forward this message
to anyone else who might be interested. If you send it to a list, let me
know - it might be a list I want to join.

Messages will begin in January, possibly late December. Part of
this presumes that I'll have success with internet access in England!
