Hi Robin,
I’m so glad you suggested this! The Flesch-Kincaid tool is very useful.
It’s out of print, but I highly recommend “The Technique of Clear Writing” by Robert Gunning. This is where I first learned about Flesch-Kincaid. I read the book from cover to cover 12 years ago when I was working for an exhibit development company and our corporate client was driving me batty over not liking my writing. The book was transformative.
