• Saturday September 29 at noon with Dr. Senta German

• Friday October 26 at 5:30 with Dr. Oscar White Muscarella

SAFE Tours provide an “insider's look” at museum collection and focus
on artworks and artifacts that have dubious provenance or are
presumed to be illicit. Also highlighted are objects that have been
excavated properly. The information we are able to gather from these
artifacts is contrasted with the lack of information from items
without provenance, or history of origin.

Dr. Senta German, whose fields of specialty are the Greek Bronze and
Iron Ages, received her PhD from Columbia University. She has over 10
years of excavation experience in Greece, Israel, the American East
Coast and Alaska. She recently authored Performance, Power and the
Art of the Aegean Bronze Age which was published in 2005. This tour
of Hellenistic, Etruscan, and Roman objects in the newly
reconstructed and reinstalled galleries will include the "centerpiece
of the new installation"—the Leon Levy and Shelby White Court, Click

register.

Dr. Oscar White Muscarella is a specialist in the art and
archaeology of the ancient Near East, he has been on staff of the
Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1964. He is also the author of "The
Lie Became Great: The Forgery of Near Eastern Cultures." He will lead
a group through the Ancient Near Eastern Galleries and discuss how
the objects got there. Click http://www.savingantiquities.org/

Fee: $40/person or $10/student with valid ID, including group
admission to the museum. Space is limited. To make your reservation
