Curator/Museum Educator
The Greater Southwest Historical Museum, a regional history museum, located in Ardmore, Oklahoma, is seeking a qualified individual to care for its extensive collection and educational programs. The successful candidate should have excellent communications and interpersonal skills and be adept at managing multiple projects and programs within a small staff environment. Responsibilities include accessioning, caring for and exhibiting the museum's artifacts, developing and supervising educational and outreach programming, and working in conjunction with the Director and staff to promote and enhance the museum. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's Degree in history, museum studies or closely related field, Master's Degree preferred, a strong curatorial background, and three to five years of experience as a curator of a history museum. Salary and compensation package negotiable, includes two-bedroom house and paid utilities. Resumes will be accepted until position filled.
