To truly map the surface of Mercury, you needa Laser Altimeter to add the third dimension, to the two dimensionsof photography. An advanced Laser Altimeter, to be launched toMercury on an European space probe in 2018, has just been deliveredto the European Space Agency (ESA) from the University of Bern.
