Hello
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help.
I have attached the summary of the results. Some people asked for more information about how the project would work. So I give some more details about it, as it is being formatted so far:
The children would be divided in groups of up to 3 chilredn with one PDA per group. The PDAs would be provided by the Museum and there could be 2 choices.
1. The teacher could choose the educational tour around the Museum with him/her at head with multimedia material for the exhibits that form the tour which would also be available to the pupils' PDAs or
2. The children could take part in groups again in a scavenger hunt with questions and other games that will lead them around the Museum without the immediate lead of the teacher.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Dear list members,    I am working in a project that will introduce PDAs in Museums as guides. There will be several tours available and one will be addressed to school groups.    For the school tour we are thinking of incorporating multiple choice questions as digital activity sheets that will either guide the group around the Museum (somehting like a scavenger hunt) or will be available at the end of the tour to conclude it and help the students think about what they have learnt.    I would like to ask if anyone knows relevant examples of good practice or if he/she has experience in designing digital activity sheets in PDAs or touchscreens or even conventional.   I have already found material in ABC of working with schools (Asking questions etc.) and a Discussion guide at the Smithsonian website, but was wondering if there is anything else that could help. I will send a summary of the answers to the list for everyone to see. Thanks in advance for the help. Would each child have a PDA, or just the teacher? If only the teacher has it, then the small screen size might be a concern. Would the museum provide the PDAs, or is this like a cell phone tour when people use their own equipment?   With wishes of success,   Anne Nagrant Troy Museum & Historic Village (Troy, Michigan, USA) --------------------------------------------- Dear Natasa,   If you interested in developing this into more of a game-based activity (perhaps using a PSP or a Nintendo DS) we would be very interested in helping you to develop this.  You may be aware that the Virtual Experience Company is now part of Blitz Games and, as such, we now have access to the latest in games technologies - not just for hand-held consoles, but also for Xbox, PlayStation3, etc.   If you are interested in this approach, we could also develop the game into something that could be used for both pre- and post-visit activities on the web, as well as a downloadable game for a more general audience.   If you'd like to discuss these ideas in more detail please let me know.   With best wishes,   Mike   Mike Gogan The Virtual Experience Company Regent Square House The Parade Leamington Spa CV32 4NL   T: +44 (0)1926 880087 M: +44 (0) 7939 599590 www.VirtualExperience.co.uk   A Division of Blitz Games Ltd ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
