Celebrate the Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase with “State Flowers of
the Louisiana Purchase” from the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens
The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens, Monroe, Louisiana featured an exhibit;
“State Flowers of the Louisiana Purchase,” beginning Tuesday July 1 through
Wednesday October 30, 2003. The exhibit features 15 watercolors of the state
flowers of the 15 states, or portions of states, that were eventually carved
from the Louisiana Purchase, painted by botanical artist and Monroe native,
Virginia A. Tuttle. State flowers included in this exhibit represent
Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana,
Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and
Wyoming.
This exhibit is available for $300 a month for 15 framed reproductions or
$500 per month for the framed originals, plus transportation.
