Jerry Brewer was interested in moving a home listed in the National
Register of Historic Places. I have had some experience not with
such moves but with the aftermath. Please get in touch with your State
Historic Preservation Officer and ask that person to bring the National
Register people into the conversation. If you are not very careful
about how and to where you move the house, its Register status gets
pulled.Once lost, it almost always stays lost.
If you have to move the house even though that will probably mean
loss of the Register status, there are people who disassemble and move
older structures. Again, talk to your State Historic Preservation
Officer. Your local library can find the number and address for you.
