I think what Mr. Lanza is referring to is not a signature line, but
what appears in your email address.

signing on as "Niccole Cook,[log in to unmask]" is far easier for me to
ID when I scan my inbox than just [log in to unmask]

The latter provides little information, especially if it were an AOL
or Yahoo address, in which case you could not even verify the
identity of the sender. At least we with professional affiliations
can be found; but anyone can obtain a hotmail account and post with
anonymity.
