Dear Colleague,

The Center for Youth Development and Policy Research (the Center) at the
Academy for Educational Development is conducting a survey of after-school
practitioners on their access to and use of information about successful
practices in the field of after school. This survey is part of the
Promising Practices in After School Initiative, a project funded by the
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation to identify and share promising practices
among people in the field. The Center is working to make the survey sample
as broad and inclusive in scope as possible so that ultimately promising
practices in after school will be disseminated to a wide variety of
practitioners.

The Center hopes that it will be possible for museums around the country
that operate after-school programs to participate in the survey, to be
administered by phone this fall. Please alert your membership of this
opportunity. For each museum, the Center hopes to survey the after-school
program coordinator as well as one staff member who works directly with
youth in the after-school program. The Center will use the information for
research purposes only and will not disseminate it without permission.
Please ask your membership to contact Elizabeth Partoyan by phone at
202-884-8513 or by e-mail at [log in to unmask] before Thursday, September
14th if they want to participate in the survey.
