The School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) at the University of Central
Florida (UCF) invites applications for a non-tenure earning, nine-month
lecturer in Studio Art who also serves as an assistant coordinator for the
UCF Art Gallery. The anticipated start date is August 2016, pending the
availability of funding.

The position requirements are teaching two courses per semester, engage in
committee service, participate in campus and community life, maintain
regular office hours, and contribute to the management and operation of the
UCF Art Gallery and the UCF Art in State Buildings program.

SVAD is a large and diverse unit with approximately 3,000 majors and minors
in the following areas of study: animation, architecture, art history,
digital media, film, game design, graphic design, information design,
applied design, and studio art.

UCF offers the following degrees: Architecture (B.D.), Art (B.S., B.A.,
B.F.A., and M.F.A.) Digital Media (B.A., M.A., and M.F.A.), and Film (B.A.,
B.F.A., and M.F.A.). More information about the school and our offerings is

Position Minimum Qualifications

Terminal degree in studio art from an accredited institution and evidence
of college level teaching in studio art. An active creative practice,
effective communication skills, technological proficiency, fine arts
retail, and non-profit and/or art gallery/museum experience are also
required.
Preferences

Successful candidates should be capable of designing and/or delivering a
range of foundations, upper-division and/or graduate studio art courses,
demonstrate outstanding design capabilities with traditional and
non-traditional materials and fabrication methods, exhibit strong
organizational and communication skills, and have experience with staff
supervision, scheduling, budgeting, grant writing, collection/inventory
management, and marketing.

official transcripts.
