*Online Marketing and Communications Manager*

The position of the Online Marketing and Communications Manager at the
National Building Museum is a new role. The Museum is focused on using
online technology to fulfill its mission of educating the public about the
building arts and sciences. The Manager will be responsible for increasing
the profile, outreach, and exposure of the Museum through multimedia and
social media; virtual marketing, advertising, and promotion; online
publications, blogs, and newsletters; and interactive collaborations with
partners. The Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the
Museum’s online strategic plan and working across departments to produce and
publish content for the web.

The successful candidate will be a skilled manager with the ability to work
both independently on detail-driven tasks as well as work cross-functionally
to accomplish major long-range initiatives. The manager will also possess
the necessary skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, sponsors, the
news-media, and the general public. Strong written, verbal, and project
management skills are required.

Applicant resumes should reflect most or all of the following: a minimum of
4 years of professional experience; website, multimedia, and social media
production; online editorial and publications management; email
communications and constituent marketing;  knowledge of database and content
management systems; web analytics experience, and basic graphic design
skills. Expertise with Microsoft Office, HTML coding, and some CRM/CMS
software is required. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign skills are strongly
preferred. Applicants should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree.
