Stephanie,

I worked for several months at the NC State Museum of History (in Raleigh)
while they were in the process of moving into their new building. I haven't
been back to see what the new exhibits look like, but I did get to see some
of the designers' sketches, and they certainly looked good. (And I've
spotted several names on this list who might be able to tell you more about
what it looks like now.) On the other side of the block (the two face each
other across a corridor that runs across the middle of the block) is the NC
State Museum of Natural History. I never had time to get in there, but
while I worked at the History museum, I remember that the front desk would
often get people looking for the Natural History museum, and it is a fair
sized building, so it can't be all bad, right?

I also remember some sort of arts festival in the Spring that was a lot of
fun. Raleigh (I never really got to Durham) is a nice area with a lot of
things going on. Enjoy it!

Subject: Raleigh/Durham, NC Area Museums/Art Centers

I am going to be in the Raleigh/Durham over the next week or so and would
love some recommendations for museums and/or art centers/galleries to visit.
I am looking to relocate to the area in late Spring and would really like to
see a variety of whats available. Any suggestions would be much
appreciated.
 Thanks.

Stephanie
