We are looking for an institution that would be interested in a
post-Civil War black silk bonnet.  The piece is in excellent condition.
It was owned by a Nancy Barsona Lowe Wilson (b.1857-d.1954) of Marshall
County Alabama.  She is buried in Douglas Cemetery in Marshall County.
According to our resources and textiles folks who have looked at the
piece, it is post Civil War.  It has been declined by our museum because
we interpret Civil War era textiles.  Ideally, the donor would like to
see the bonnet go to institution in who interprets Southern material of
this time period.  The list doesn't allow the attachment of jpeg files,
but the digital photos are available.  Please contact me off list if you
