Abramovitz Scholarship Mentors

Mentors wanted to work with four talented teens. Mentors are paid $30  
per hour, and will work an average of 1-2 hours per week ~ very  
flexible schedule. Mentorship lasts for one year. Mentor  
responsibilities include one-on-one counseling,  critiquing work,  
managing a small budget, suggesting classes, readings and projects,  
leading trips to galleries, studios and museums, helping prepare  
student work for final show, and helping prepare portfolio and  
applications for colleges.

Mentors will be chosen based on the specific needs of Abramovitz  
Scholarship recipients. Mentors should be accomplished artists with  
an affinity for young people. Desirable skills sets include painting,  
drawing, photography, installation, familiarity with a variety of  
fine art media, spanish language, digital art, animation, web design,  
art history, (especially hispanic) and music (pop, hip-hop).  
Desirable painting skills include portraiture, abstraction and  
graffiti style.

The Children’s Fine Art program is seeking artists/art educators for

Kinder Computer Art
Little kids master new technologies quickly. A fun, nurturing way to  
learn the basics of image-making using a computer, including color,  
composition, line and texture as well as scanning, digital image  
processing and printing.

The Digital Image
Work with Photoshop™, digital scanners and digital cameras to create

Web Weaving with Macromedia Dreamweaver®
This powerful yet easily to learned software enables students to

We’ll use various digital tools, especially Dreamweaver™, to create

Mobiles, stabiles and vehicles ~ we’ll look at work by important

experienced in working with children. Teacher pay is $27 for spring
