Greetings,

As the subject line announces, this question may be a little off topic for
museum-l but I was hoping that someone on the list may be able to answer a
question for me since I've noticed that there are a few independent
consultants subscribed.

I would like to know what the going salary/rate range is for corporate art
consulting.  I have recently been invited to be interviewed for a position
that will require the typical roster of abilities: acquiring new pieces,
researching what is already in the collection and arranging for evaluations
and conservation.  This company does not give its collection high public
profile so there are unlikely to be any assignments curating exhibitions.  I
am an undergraduate but with pages of volunteer experience as a curator and
gallery assistant added to significant exposure to corporate art
collections, I am well prepared to face the unique challenges this position
will present.  The only thing is that I have never been "employed" in this
capacity so I don't know what is reasonable to negotiate as pay.

Any comments/thoughts on the topic are appreciated!
