Director of Communications/Web Manager

Full-time Position 

 

Heritage Preservation, a national nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, is seeking a Director of Communications/Web Manager to develop and implement electronic and print communications. Responsibilities include all aspects of www.heritagepreservation.org <http://www.heritagepreservation.org/> , including its written, visual, and technical aspects. Other responsibilities are editing and proofreading all Heritage Preservation print and electronic materials; editing and coordinating print and electronic newsletters; managing liaison with printers, designers, and mail houses; and managing Heritage Preservation visual branding.  

 

A successful candidate will have had at least 2-3 years experience in related work. Required skills include excellent knowledge of the English language, including familiarity with Chicago style; experience with HTML/XHTML/CSS web pages and with managing a web site; familiarity with Quark Xpress, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office, photo editing skills, and experience working with printers, preferably on digital presses. A working knowledge of basic IT issues and experience working with a content management system would be helpful.

 

Salary is competitive for a mid-sized non-profit; please let us know your requirements. Benefits are excellent and include a $40/month public transit allocation. Heritage Preservation will not cover relocation costs.
