Lori --

Before returning to graduate school to study art history, I worked for a
company in Chicago called IEG. Everything it does is focused on providing
information on sponsorship, both to the sponsors and to the sponsees. Its
Web address is www.sponsorship.com. I remember they had a legal guide to
sponsorship by Mary Reed. They also have sample contracts available, at
least they did when I worked there!

FYI -- As they are in business, much of the information is for sale.

Good luck --

Subject: sponsorships and legal liability

> Hi listers!
>
> Our Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department is in the process
of establishing a more comprehensive sponsorship program for our events,
exhibits, etc. One of our tasks is to "define and manage legal liabilities
associated with sponsorship" (in a nutshell, who could potentially sue who
over what, and what protective measures should be taken). Anyone out there
have some advice to offer, or information sources to suggest?
