I am currently studying an MA in Arts and Museum Management in Salford University (UK) and I am planning to write my dissertation on the following topic:

“Are boundaries between commercial art galleries and art museums blurring?” There are a couple of examples here in the UK, like the V&A selling contemporary applied and decorative arts at the ‘International fair for contemporary objects’ held at the V&A last January, for the second consecutive year; and Tate Britain, selling the works displayed in the ‘In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida’ exhibition (3 March-31 May, 2004).

Is anyone familiar with this subject? Could anyone recommend me any resources (books, websites, etc) out there, and/or information from personal experiences that could guide me in ant way? Any contacts, suggestions, opinions, would be greatly appreciated.
