ASSISTANT REGISTRAR The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, State Art Museum of Florida, Florida State University, seeks Assistant Registrar. Responsible for administration of collections management software (TMS) to include: Object Records, Loans, Exhibitions, Constituents, Media, Shipping, Bibliography, Events, Sites and Insurance.  Establishes protocols and standards for data entry.  Trains new staff on database, performs data entry, records cleanup and produces reports.  Works closely with Office of Technology Integration.  Assists in digitalization of collection, preparation of records, location changes, acquisitions, loans and exhibitions, inventory, receipts for loans and acquisitions, reports, and responds to inquiries.  Contributes to educational activities of the Museum.  Assists with the development of registration and object files.  Administrative duties as required.  May require work hour flexibility due to exhibition deadlines. The Ringling Collection includes a world-renowned Museum of Art, Circus Museum, and Cŕ d' Zan, the 1926 winter home of John and Mable Ringling. Must have knowledge of history of American and European art as well as all aspects of collections management and registration including museum ethics and art law, art handling, traditional and electronic collections management database systems, national and international shipping and insurance, excellent interpersonal skills and institutional team approach.  M.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, or Collections Management preferred, or comparable experience with two to three years experience required.  Knowledge of Windows 2000/XP, MS Office 2003/XP Word and Excel; experience with TMS or comparable collections management system, Crystal Report, PowerPoint, and PhotoShop preferred.
