Hi All,

The 2nd iDigBio Train the Trainers Georeferencing Workshop is almost here!
Monday - Friday August 12 - 16, 9 am - 5 pm. EDT

Workshop Agenda Wiki: https://tinyurl.com/idbttt2
Attend Remotely via AdobeConnect
(see instructions in PS below): http://idigbio.adobeconnect.com/geotrain/

The workshop will cover tools and techniques used to correctly interpret
textual location data into spatial descriptions that can be used in
mapping and analyses. Participants will learn the fundamentals of
georeferencing best practices through a combination of lectures and
hands-on exercises, including paper maps, the MaNIS Georeferencing
Calculator, GEOLocate, and online exercises. Special attention will be
paid to the specific and unique georeferencing needs and workflows of
the TCNs and their digitization activities.

On behalf of the iDigBio Georeferencing Working Group and all of us at
iDigBio - Hope to see you there!

Deb
PS: For those of you new to Adobe Connect, please be sure to log in to
Adobe Connect 20 minutes before the session of interest so that you have
time to figure out the software before the meeting begins. For more help
see: https://www.idigbio.org/wiki/index.php/Web_Conferencing
HINTS: Use Headphones, Mute your Microphone, Firefox (usually) works
better than Chrome with Adobe Connect.
*Please excuse cross-postings for those of you that belong to multiple
lists.
