Sara,

Although I can't offer any advise on the Library and Info Science aspect of your questions, I can tell you about the museum studies program I completed. I am also completing my master's degree soon (in Anthropology though) and while pursuing this degree I went thru the Museum Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Although you receive a certificate in the mus studies when done rather than a masters degree, you gain a lot of valuable knowledge about museums and their processes. Also, you mentioned considering a public history masters degree. My museum classes were about half anthro students and half history/public history students. Most of the history students I knew from my class are now working in museums (I had to stay back in school to finish a masters thesis, something not required by the history program here at UWM). So if considering a public history degree with a museum emphasis, I would look into UWM's masters history and museum studies programs. The
 webpage is http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/museumstudies/index.html
If you have any questions about it you can contact me at this email or at [log in to unmask] where I check my email more often. Take care and good luck.
