Museum Volunteer Services Coordinator III 

(AMENDED POSTING)

Core Hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm 

(Includes Weekends and Holidays)

 

General Description

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (TSHM) is a division of the
State Preservation Board, the caretakers of the Capitol.  TSHM is a
dynamic non-collecting educational institution that engages its visitors
in the exciting Story of Texas through a variety of programs and exhibit
experiences. This position reports to the Head of Education Services.
Effectively fulfills and coordinates the Museum's Volunteer Services
program, including program planning, publicizing, scheduling,
recognition and providing training, oversight and leadership to all
volunteers and Museum divisions. Performs all other related duties as
assigned. 

Required Qualifications The successful candidate must be a college
graduate with a Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of experience
managing  non-profit volunteer programs and/or non-stipend internship
programs. Applicants are required to demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft
Office Suite products, including MS Word and Excel. Must ensure
compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), including
public access to the Volunteer Office and program activities. Duties may
require periods of prolonged walking or standing. 

Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will have
additional volunteer management experience, volunteer administration
certification and is required to demonstrate knowledge of VISTA and
Raiser's Edge Volunteer Module. A background in cultural resources or
museum experience preferred.
