Thank you, John, for presenting a concise statement.

I, too, as an art curator, believe that there is always a point of view to
every exhibition (although in contemporary art it tends to be attributed to
the artist rather than the institution).  I think it is endemic to museums
to be perceived as neutral arbiters of TRUTH, and I for one think it is time
to acknowledge that museums are working from individual and collective bases
of opinion, albeit informed and balanced ones.
