Thank you for your answers, but maybe I need to clarify my question. I am asking about ethics involving the visitor experience. What can and can not be "done" to a visitor while in the confines of a museum exhibition? Has this issue came up in the museum field?

Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] Ethics in Museum Exhibitions?

As a student, we spent a great deal of time discussing the issues and ethics surrounding the "Enola Gay" exhibit and "The West As America". There are several articles and book chapters devoted to these exhibits and the controversy surrounding them.

Hello, I am a graduate student studying for an MA in Exhibition Design. We've discussed visitor experience in exhibitions. We've discussed ADA guidelines regarding museum exhibitions. I am curious, however, are there ethical restrictions to think of in designing museum exhibitions? I understand the physical constraints that museum visitors can and can not face, in regards to the ADA, but are ethics an issue when designing and conceptualizing museum exhibitions? Or is this just something that has not been considered? I studied Psychology in my undergrad years, so ethics weighs heavily in that field. Any answers would help, thank you.
