At Dumbarton House in Washington, D.C., it varies between rental events and
internal museum events. Per our rental contract for external parties:
"The Contracting Party must secure a single event liquor license (or must
arrange with the caterer to utilize the caterer’s license)."
For internal events such as volunteer appreciation dinners, Dumbarton House
holds a host liquor license.
Beverages are not allowed in the Museum, but are allowed in our outdoor
spaces and in our ballroom, which is not part of the historic structure.
Red wine is only allowed as part of a seated dinner service.
