A symposium presenting the findings of the ARC funded international
research "Exhibitions as contested sites" and
debating the role of museums as civic spaces. A range of speakers
respond including Elaine Heumann Gurian,
Professor Graeme Davison, Dr Patrick Greene, Director, Museum Victoria;
Eva Cox, University of Technology.

A full-day workshop with leading international museum consultant, Elaine
Heumann Gurian on how museums can
be 'timely' in responding to current event. Targeted at museum senior
staff and decision makers in all disciplines the
workshop will explore how museums can ensure they are relevant in a
