Good Afternoon All,

Speaking of MOE-BILE Exhibits!

I don't forget Episode #170 of the Andy Griffin Show (1965) "The
Cannon".....

Storyline

The good folks of Mayberry are thrilled when they learn that the
Governor of the State is going be visit them and take part in their
Founders' Day celebration. They also learn that the State Mobile Museum
will be sent to the town. The Museum contains many valuable artifacts
including paintings, coins and memorabilia. Warren thinks that the
planned activities lack oomph and that they should fire the old cannon
in the town square. Andy tells him to forget it but he persists.
Actually, the cannon becomes useful when a couple try to rob the museum.

Perhaps slightly extreme, but our museum is hosting the Waddell & Reed
Traveling World War I exhibit- it travels in an 18-wheel "Big Rig"
truck. Here is more information: http://honoringourhistory.com/.

Are there any museums out there that have taken their museum and its
collections out into the public via a van or "traveling museum". I do
not mean a traveling exhibit that is installed in a host museums'
gallery, rather a mobile unit, a van or truck that people can interact
with both inside and outside. If so, I would be very interested in
hearing more about how you made these programs come to life. Thanks!
