Stephanie,

Check out KE Software. While it was not introduced to the world as an archival tool, I believe other organizations are using it or looking towards customization for their needs. We use it for a wide range of museological functions. A very robust package indeed with a strong multimedia component. Your email does not say where you are located or the size of your collection, so I am not sure if the cost would be prohibitive. Feel free to call me if you want to discuss further.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Archival software packages

Announcement to the listserve:
Can anyone recommend a good archival software package for a company with objects, photographic and print materials to be recorded? We are searching for a database package that is user friendly for multiple departments to enter and update information.
Thank you,
Stephanie
