Position Available:  The Woody Guthrie Foundation and Archives seeks a
professionally trained archivist for the position of Assistant Archivist.
This is a part-time position.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Working with the Head Archivist, the Assistant Archivist handles daily
management of the multiformat archival collection (cataloging, processsing,
accessioning and rehousing materials, maintaining database, processing loan
agreements and publication requests, tracking client and vendor invoicing,
ordering supplies and general budgeting).  He/She will be responsible for
scheduling and assisting researchers (both in-house and via our website),
and developing exhibition and historical presentations for public programs.
The Assistant Archivist will also contribute content to the organizations¹
website through research, writing, and scanning of materials.

Requirements:
Candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years archival, library or related
experience, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to
work with minimal supervision on several projects, and an interest in the
life and work of Woody Guthrie and/or American Folk Music.  Candidate should
be computer literate, web savvy, and have experience with MAC platform
software (Foxpro, Helix Rade, Photoshop, Wordperfect, etc.)  Experience with
digitization projects is expected.  Ideal candidates will have an M.L.S.or
archival certification;  a background in Music or Music History is highly
preferred.

This position requires a 24 hours per week committment, salary is based upon
