Our board is seeking information as to how other Museums handle the
accounting of the store manager's salary and store expenses as related
to the year-end profit of the store.

Are the salary and benefits of the store manager deducted from the
yearly profits? Our store manager (probably like many of you) manage
the store and weekend staff, provides visitor services, greets
customers, monitors security cameras as well as open and close the
museum every day. If there is a problem in the museum (viewed by
camera) she takes the correct action.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding your operation... and
arguments for keeping a store open.

Thanks in advance.
