The textiles in our small historical museum have spent many years folded on
shelves in storage. We are in the process of rehousing them more
appropriately in acid free boxes and on padded hangers, but in the meantime
are also in the midst of preparing a large exhibit of textiles.  Many of the
pieces we have chosen for exhibit are horribly wrinkled. Can anyone suggest
an easy and safe way to press out the wrinkles (obviously ironing is a bad
choice), but what are some of the other alternatives. Steaming? Fabrics vary
from cotton and silk to wool and synthetics. Any help is appreciated.
