The Canadian Conservation Institute has excellent articles on textile care.
I was given them by an instructor in textile conservation. Their web site
is http://www.cci-icc.gc.ca/frameset_e.shtml

It has a very good search engine as well. They get very technical, but also
give very good general guidelines in their published notes.

Since you are working with many types of textiles, this could be helpful.
Every fabric has different needs.
