We often have smaller classrooms come with only one teacher, which means that our docents and myself often are alone with kids. I have also taught after school at different schools where I am alone in the classroom.
Teachers are alone with their students - I'm not sure why this policy would be necessary?
We do however have a policy that a staff member can't be alone in the building with visitors - that there needs to be at least two museum employees on site when the building has a public tour going on.
